Peach's Starting Five - Six Weeks

 

Maybe I will reattempt a group picture later today, but yesterday these boys were NOT interested in holding still long enough to capture them all in one frame. Not even a crate could keep them long enough for a picture. Maybe if I wait until they are really tired after a puppy break I can catch them for a picture.

This week the puppies have gone from barely hobbling out of their enclosure for a tiny exploration, to demanding several long puppy breaks throughout the day. For the most part their puppy breaks are limited to a small area as they are still working on hitting the potty pads with consistency.

Puppies are cutting teeth and mastering eating solid foods, which is great because Momma Peach is ready to be done. She visits them very infrequently and they are now getting most of their nutrition from their puppy food. Their favorite is canned Nutrisouce Puppy but they dabble in the hard kibble (Same brand). Next stage of food will be softened kibble (soaked in water) before they move entirely to kibble.

Looking forward to this coming week, I think we will take the puppies outside and start to teach them about the great outdoors!

Peach's Starting Five - Five Weeks

 

These boys are five weeks old! They have grown so much this week in terms of activity level. Everyone happily dabbles in kibble and laps at the puppy mush. Peach's pups still prefer mother's milk to fill up, but we are off to a good start and should begin weaning this week.

The puppies have one or two mini puppy breaks every day. They don't last long! It is still a rare occurrence to see the pups awake and active. This week I anticipate a little more playtime: possibly some kitchen exploration and a visit to the great outdoors if we continue to have nice weather.

Peach's Starting Five - Four Weeks

 

Peach's puppies are four weeks old. They have gotten used to the daily basket ride from the Nursery to the kitchen and are growing accustomed to the sights and sounds of family and home. This week they have been introduced to solid foods: kibble, mush, gravy, water.... they are not interested in any of it! Teddy gave the kibble a try, but didn't commit. We will have to work a little harder on this group to get them to eat solids.

Puppies still sleep almost all of the time. But when they are awake, they take time to look around, walk around, and are curious about human interactions. They play with their toys attached to the side of the pen from time to time, and I've seen some rough-housing! It's not very rough!

Peach's Starting Five - Three Weeks

 

Peach's Boys have opened their eyes and ears. They do not stay awake long, and usually are searching for food if they are awake, but it is fun that noises alert them to wakefulness. They have graduated from the whelping box into a pen with a potty pad. They still enjoy their warming light and have not yet tried solid foods, but that will be coming soon!

Tried taking pictures of puppies with open eyes, but they are still so tired that they didn't want to give much more than a group pictures with open eyes. They are pretty snuggly little potatoes.

Peach's Starting Five - Two Weeks

 

Peach's puppies are two weeks old today. I am surprised that we only have one puppy taking a peek at the world! (Keba opened his eyes this morning.) I expect in the next couple of days, all of the boys will have opened their eyes, and soon after their ears should unseal also.

A $400 non-refundable deposit will hold a puppy until 8 weeks of age. The deposit will go toward the final price of the puppy. I will accept Venmo and Zelle transactions, or a check in the mail for deposits.

I will only be taking puppy reservations by email, and in the order the email reaches my inbox after puppies have been posted here.

Peach's Starting Five - One Week

 

Peach's babies are doing well. In one week, they have all gained a few ounces, learned how to find mom and the warm places in the whelping box, and are starting to show some pigment coming in on their noses and pads.
